The panelists, from diverse regions in India, and from Nepal, share their own experiences of navigating
the culture of American academia. They also discuss issues related to mentoring for international South
Asian graduate students at Virginia Tech, and possible positive outcomes of effective, culturally informed guidance in terms of student retention and productivity. The audience will be invited to participate in the conversation to follow.
The purpose of this event is to add to Virginia Techs initiative on inclusion and diversity from a South Asian perspective.
