At this year's University Exemplary Department/Program Recognition Ceremony, the following three programs will be recognized for effectively implementing and assessing programs for first year students that incorporate problem solving, inquiry and/or integration of learning skills:

- The First-Year Writing Program within the Department of English
- The Foundation Program within the School of Architecture + Design
- The Invent the Sustainable Future Program within the College of Natural Resources and Environment

The University Exemplary Department/Program Award recognizes the work of departments and/or programs that maintain exemplary teaching and learning environments for students and faculty.
