Ruixin Yang, associate professor in the Department of Geography and GeoInformation Sciences (GGS) in the College of Science at George Mason University, will introduce a few high level examples of scientific data mining applications and then focus on association rule mining technique and its application to the analysis of intensity changes of North Atlantic tropical cyclones (TCs).
