Gender Religion and Identity in Social Theory
(Seminar/Conference)
This symposium will examine the intersecting themes of Gender, Religion
and Identity, as interpreted in contemporary Social Theory. The
colloquium will feature as an invited participant: Eric Silverman,
Ph.D. Anthropology, Associate Professor, American Studies and Human
Development, Wheelock College. The symposium will feature papers by
Grace Yia-Hei Kao, Religious Studies; Benjamin Sax, Judaic Studies;
Emily Bibby, History; Minjeong Kim, Women and Gender Studies; Laura
Sjoberg, Political Science; and Lindsey Newman, History. Comments on the
papers will be provided by faculty from Philosophy, Religious Studies,
History, English, and Women and Gender Studies. Professor Silverman's
visit is supported by the Women and Minority Artist and Scholar Lecture Series. More information...
