Monsanto Mobile Technology Unit
(Academic)
Open daily from 8 am to 5 pm
Monsanto is bringing it's mobile technology unit to campus on March
24-26, hosted by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. We would
like to invite the Biology Department faculty, staff, and students to
come tour this unique exhibit.
The unit is a 53-foot long, 1,000 square foot interactive display
integrated into a semi tractor trailer. On board the exhibit highlights
seed breeding, biotechnology, and new product development.
Tours of the unit are led by Monsanto's experienced team of Ag Educators
who also conduct tours at the company's Chesterfield research facility
and crop analytics operation in St. Louis, MO.
We would like for professors to announce this opportunity in class.
Professors wanting to schedule a time for their entire class to tour the
unit can simply contact me via email at mdhall@vt.edu. Professors can
also use this learning opportunity as an option for students to earn
extra credit. Simply have students get a signature from the Monsanto ad
educator leading the tour.
The unit will be located at the Duck Pond overflow parking lot and be
open from 8 am to 5 pm daily, Tuesday March 24 through Thursday March
26. Tours generally take 30-45 minutes to complete. Walk-ups are
welcome, or groups can schedule a tour by contacting me via email at
mdhall@vt.edu.
