Castelnuovo-Tedesco: The Cypress Grove
Medtner: Sonata-Reminiscenza
Debussy: Four Piano Works
Schubert: Sonata in B-flat Major, D. 960

The program features works from the early 20th century alongside Schubert's mighty Sonata in B-flat Major. Written only six weeks before his death, the piece languished in obscurity for almost a century before being rediscovered by a generation of pianists in the early 20th century. The sonata is an epic journey through the innermost thoughts of the dying composer, going from the depths of despair to triumph.
