Nikolai Steinberg, former chief engineer of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, will present "Nuclear Disaster Response at Chernobyl."

Steinberg was appointed to the highest technical post immediately following the Chernobyl catastrophe in 1986. In that position, he was responsible for planning, putting together, and managing an enormous organization to mitigate the consequences of the disaster.

During his presentation, Steinberg will review some of the decisions, challenges, and successes of the initial response.
