Open Access Week: Ubiquity Press, A Platform for Open Publishing
(Seminar/Conference)
Brian Hole, CEO of Ubiquity Press, will present and demonstrate the Ubiquity publishing platform. Journal editors and those interested in starting a new journal will find this session of interest.
Founded by researchers at University College London in 2012, Ubiquity Press quickly established itself as an important and innovative publisher of open access, peer-reviewed scholarly journals, books, and data. In 2014 Ubiquity began sharing its publishing platform with independent university and society presses as a way of creating economies of scale around technology and infrastructure. Today, the Ubiquity Partner Network includes scholarly presses from the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States. Most notably, the University of California Press joined the network in 2015 and now uses the Ubiquity platform to publish open access journals and books.
