What is bonsai and how is it practiced?
Jerrie Pike, the owner of Higo Garden Bonsai, will lead an informative discussion of "all things bonsai" including the theory of styling and the supporting role bonsai pots play in aesthetic presentation. She will talk about what woody plants can be used successfully and what keeps a bonsai healthy and happy. Proper soil, feeding, watering, and root pruning will be discussed. She will also demonstrate branch and foliage styling.
You are encouraged to come with questions and to bring one of your own bonsai to be included in the discussions.
