Using the Virginia Tech Common Book in Your Course: A Working Session
(Seminar/Conference)

Virginia Tech's Common Book Project presents opportunities for instructors to actively engage students in a campus-wide intellectual and community building experience. This informal working session will focus on developing, reviewing, and sharing course activities and assignments for the 2016-2017 Virginia Tech Common Book, "The Heart and the Fist."

The session will begin with a brief overview of the Common Book Project and the CIDER Common Book Resources website. After this brief introduction, participants will be given time to develop, refine, and share their own common book assignments and activities and to receive feedback from CIDER staff and other participants. Participants are encouraged to bring their common book assignments and activities to work on, share and discuss. CIDER staff will be on hand to provide feedback throughout the working session.

Participants can feel free to come and go as their schedules allow.

Information about Virginia Tech's Common book Project is available online.
