SIREN Seminar: Daniel Blumenthal - DOE's Fukushima Response and Resulting Improvements to Preparedness and Training

Daniel Blumenthal manages the Consequence Management programs in the Office of Emergency Response at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) within the Department of Energy (DOE). He led the initial DOE response team to Japan where he spent a total of seven weeks following the Fukusima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident in March 2011.
In his presentation, "DOE's Fukushima Response and Resulting Improvements to Preparedness and Training," Blumental will highlight DOE response and summarize key initiatives to improve responder training and a responder team's surge capacity for large-scale responses.
Graduate students are encouraged to arrive at 11:30 a.m. to chat with the speaker.
