Open educational resources in teaching and learning: What, why, and how
(Seminar/Conference)
What are open educational resources? Why is the OER movement growing in popularity in higher education? How do you integrate OER in your teaching? What do you need to know before adopting OER in your instruction? Why would you want to use or create OER materials? Where can you find quality OER?
In this session, Eddie Watson will answer the above questions, demonstrate courses developed using OER, and discuss concerns related to OER adoption. He will also share relevant research results regarding OER adoption, including faculty and student perceptions, and effects on faculty and student engagement, and student affordability and achievement.
