Workshops on Open Educational Resources

On Monday, Nov. 16, Technology-enhanced Learning and Online Strategies (TLOS), the University Libraries, and the Center for Instructional Development and Educational Research (CIDER) will welcome Eddie Watson, director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Georgia and expert on Open Educational Resources (OER), to lead several workshops. All events are free and open to the public; faculty, staff, and graduate students may register for NLI credit.
OER are free and editable teaching, learning, and research resources free of most copyright restrictions and often available under a Creative Commons license (http://www.creativecommons.org). For examples and more information about OER, see http://guides.lib.vt.edu/oer. OER have saved students at UGA $2 million in 2013-2016.
