Open Data Day and Code Across
(Special Event)
Virginia Tech's University Libraries and Code for NRV, our local Code for America brigade, will host an open workshop for Open Data Day and Code Across.
The purpose is to bring together people from the university, government, and the community to discuss issues of open data and begin projects that create, aggregate, and/or utilize openly available data sets. We hope to use open government data (and open research data) to explore themes of interest to participants, including mapping, health, public policy, and more. We will identify themes more closely through feedback from faculty and students, and through the online registration form. If you use or create open data in your work and have a theme or platform (e.g. OpenStreetMap) you would be interested in exploring on Open Data Day, contact Philip Young at pyoung1@vt.edu or 540-231-8845.
Lunch will be provided for the event. More information...
