Pre-Law Event
(Academic)
On Tuesday, October 7, 2014, two law school admissions deans are scheduled to visit Blacksburg and to lead Virginia Tech students in a simulation of deliberation and decision making by a law school admissions committee. Those who attend this event will be given the opportunity to review copies of several law school applications (with identifying information removed), will be invited to ask questions of the admissions deans and to discuss with them the strengths and weaknesses of the files, and will be asked to vote on which student to admit to a hypothetical law school entering class. There will also be opportunities for follow-up questions and discussion. This exercise will provide valuable perspectives toward the law school admissions process.
This event, which is open to the entire University community, will take place on Tuesday, October 7, from 7:00-8:30 p.m., in 3100 Torgersen Hall. The mock panel will be led by admissions deans representing the Charleston School of Law and the University of Richmond School of Law.
