Welcome Honor Flight of D-Day Veterans at Roanoke Airport

Members of the Corps of Cadets will be part of the group welcoming an Honor Flight bringing D-Day veterans to Roanoke, Virginia, this Thursday to be part of the reunion of D-Day veterans during the 70th anniversary ceremony at the National D-Day Memorial.
The Honor Flights are flights set up to bring World War II veterans to World War II monuments and special events. The flight of D-Day veterans will be arriving at the Roanoke airport this Thursday at 11:10 a.m. After arrival, they will be traveling to the D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia. They will depart from the Roanoke airport on Saturday, June 7, at 8:15 a.m.
All are welcome to come and greet these national heroes to the New River Valley. If you would like to participate, we encourage you to come greet these veterans as they arrive Thursday or depart Saturday. Please arrive at least one hour prior to the scheduled arrival and departure times, at the Roanoke airport. Personnel there will direct you to the areas where you can meet and greet the veterans.
60 D-Day veterans are expected to be a part of this flight.
