Art Exhibit featuring Wayne Thomas
(Arts)
The Department of Engineering Science & Mechanics and the Center for Peace Studies and Violence Prevention cordially invite you to an exhibit of artwork by Wayne Thomas.
Artist's Statement:
When creating a painting, I try to capture the beauty of the natural world. In most of my landscapes; I minimize the human element on the land. By doing so, I hope it gives a feeling of going back in time. I work in pen,
pencil, acrylics, and water colors.
Stippling and pointillism are the primary techniques that I use to create the detail in my art. Although I have no formal art training, I earned a BA in Graphic Design.
The historic Masters have always inspired me. Artists like Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci, Claude Monet, Frederic Remington, Andrew Wyeth, and Charles Marion Russell are a few of the many artists that influence me.
