Redshift and Portalmetal: Femme Science Findings by Micha Cardenas
(Special Event)

Micha Cardenas is a Ph.D. Candidate in Media Arts and Practice at the University of Southern California; and a Visiting Professor at the University of Toronto's Knowledge Media Design Institute.

Co-sponsored by Virginia Tech's Women's & Gender Studies, Department of Sociology, the Women in Leadership and Philanthropy Endowed Lecture Fund, the Women and Minority Artists and Scholars Lecture Series, and The Moss Arts Center. A keynote in the Gender, Bodies, & Technology Conference, this event is free and open to the public.

This performance will be translated into ASL for the deaf and hearing-impaired.

To help make this conference accessible to participants for whom chemicals or fragrances are an access barrier, GBT requests that you come fragrance-free. Please refrain from wearing any scented products or washing with them. This includes clothing that has been laundered with fragranced detergent or fabric softening products. Additionally, please completely air out any dry-cleaned clothing before wearing it to the conference. It is also essential that we maintain a smoke-free environment. If you smoke, please do so 25-feet from conference locations.
