Paws for a Cause 5K

HALT (Helping Animals Learn to Trust) Club is holding their 4th annual Paws for a Cause event on Sunday, April 13th from 12:00-3:00 pm. Registration will begin at 12:00 pm and the race will start promptly at 1:00 pm. HALT is a Virginia Tech student-run organization that raises money for local animal shelters and also visits these shelters to help socialize the animals.
Paws for a Cause is a 5K walk/run on the Virginia Tech cross country course in honor of animals that have been abused, mistreated, or abandoned.
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their dogs! There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place that walk/run with a dog. Not only is it for a great cause, but this event is essentially a huge puppy play date that is lots of fun for both the dogs and their loving owners!
We will also be having a Dog Trick Contest with prizes for winners!
ALL of the money we raise will be given directly to Montgomery County Friends for Animal Care & Control and Pulaski County Humane Society. The more money we raise, the more animals we can help!
Our goal this year is to raise $5,000. Please help us raise our goal! Even if you cannot physically attend the event, you can still help by donating! The Eventbrite website allows you make donations if you choose to do so. Every penny counts!
The event is open to ALL who want to enjoy beautiful weather, meet some great people and their pups, and raise money for innocent animals. Come join the fun! There will be music, a photo station with costumes to dress up your dog, corn hole, ladder toss, and tons of other fun activities!
