Nike Boys Collegiate Soccer Experience Virginia Tech
(Athletics)

Our residential camps are a great opportunity for you to spend time with our coaching staff and to use the fabulous facilities at Virginia Tech. Players receive instruction from a variety of college coaches from the East Coast. Our camps are designed for players who want to improve their game for high school, club, and, looking to the future, college soccer. Senior college coaches cover many topics: principles of attacking and defending, combination play, pressure-cover-balance, flank play, counter attacking, zonal defending, finishing, and more. We break down the game, and focus on individual topics for each session and then practice in small sided games. Our system of coaching gives players the chance to make better decisions while playing at a faster pace, reaching a new level of awareness and understanding of the game. We make camp competitive as the players push themselves. During the week players compete in small sided tournaments and evening games. Registration is limited to ages 10-18.

Our goalkeeping camps are run in conjunction with our residential camps. The structure of the goalkeeper camp offers a balance of specific goalkeeper training, training with the team, and playing in games. The goalkeepers start off the day with specific goalkeeper training. Focus is on the many facets of the game such as crosses, shot stopping, shot handling, breakaways, angle play, set pieces, and distribution. In the afternoon sessions, the goalkeepers are integrated into the field sessions when there is a finishing or crossing topic. Otherwise, the goalkeepers stay together for specific training. The final session of the day is games competition. The goalkeepers are placed on a team and received valuable game experience under the instruction from Coaches Kevin and Jesse. Registration is limited to ages 10-18.
