InfraGard Meeting at Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech Office of Export and Secure Research Compliance will be hosting an InfraGard meeting and workshops on a variety of topics in the area of Cyber Threats, Cyber Security, and Counterintelligence. There will be speakers from the FBI Richmond Office to discuss how the InfraGard Program meshes with the mission and goals of the FBI, and the vital role Infragard members and others can and do play in the protection of our national critical infrastructure. Speakers will discuss current threats facing our nation, state and communities; and, how private citizens and businesses can join in the effort to protect our nation's critical assets. The goal of the meeting aims to further the institutional sharing of expertise and experiences between the government, private sector, and universities, and to encourage the implementation of joint activities in the field of information technology within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Furthermore, the presentations will strive to complement the initiatives of the Infragard Program but specifically focus on emerging threats in cyber space, discuss new technology and trends, and continue the development of effective measures to prevent and prepare for cyber-threats.
