Clay Johnson III To Lecture on Presidential Appointments

The Virginia Tech Center for Public Administration and Policy (CPAP) and Indiana University's School of Public and International Affairs are sponsoring a workshop on Appointee Politics and the Implications for Government Effectiveness on Friday, May 4, and Saturday, May 5.
The reception and keynote speech on Friday, May 4, is open to Virginia Tech faculty, staff, administrators, and students. Keynote speaker Clay Johnson III, former deputy director for Management at the Office of Management and Budget at the White House, will present "Appointments in the President's First Year: The Problem and Solution." Johnson directed the transition for President George W. Bush and will discuss the issues and challenges he faced during the transition and in the following years.
