Elucidating the Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Neurofibromatosis
(VTC)
Joseph Kissil, PhD
Associate Professor
Program in Molecular and Cellular Oncogenesis
The Wistar Institute
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Dr. Kissil will discuss future directions in his efforts to understand the molecular basis of NF2, with an emphasis on studies aimed at defining the extracellular anti-proliferative signals that regulate Schwann cell growth and proliferation, how these signals are transduced, and how they malfunction in disease. He will also describe efforts to identify and validate targets for therapeutic intervention.
