  Open Street Map Day
(Club)

Open Street Map (OSM) is like the Wikipedia of maps. Come for a day to help put the features of Blacksburg that Google has overlooked on OSM, from roads and buildings down to bicycle racks, cycle and pedestrian paths, and if you want to add them, bushes and lampposts. Not only can everyone contribute as detailed of information as they would like, but everyone is allowed to download and use this map information freely. For more information, visit http://openstreetmap.org.

We'll be walking, driving and biking around town with GPS units and cameras to collect the map information then loading it onto computers and celebrating. We'll be raffling off a G1 running Android donated by Qualcomm amongst participants. Headquarters will be in 1020 Torgersen Hall.
