Abstracted and Altered: Catharsis Paintings is a series of abstract expressionist collage paintings by Professor Yonsenia White. Her work is mainly driven by catharsis, the act of emotional release. Through her abstract use of color, shape and form, White illustrates her experiences as a woman, African American, and feminist.
